Her interests include crime and gothic fiction and film and she is a particular fan of the works of James Ellroy and Alfred Hitchcock. In her spare time, she writes short stories and is interested in script-writing, having been a delegate at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mgeitf.co.uk\/home\/thenetwork\/the-network-at-work-2.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">The Network<\/a>, a talent scheme in association with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mgeitf.co.uk\/home\/mgeitf.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">MediaGuardian Edinburgh International Television Festival<\/a>. Lauren also volunteers at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dukes-lancaster.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dukes Cinema and Theatre<\/a> in Lancaster and for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.litfest.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Litfest<\/a>.
