Allan L Branson<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Allan L. Branson, Ph.D. Criminal Justice Prof. \u00a0Arcadia University<\/strong>,\u00a0is a Ph.D. graduate (2011) from the University of Leicester (UK) and current Associate tutor for that institution. Dr. Branson also has a Baccalaureate Degree in Communications from Temple University (1988) is a National Honors Society member, and a graduate of St. Joseph\u2019s University with a Master\u2019s Degree in Criminal Justice (2004).<\/p>\n

He is also a graduate of the FBI\u2019s National Academy Session 250 and continues to teach as an adjunct professor at Chestnut Hill College and Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His previous position as a police investigator assigned to the Philadelphia Police Department\u2019s Internal Affairs Division for 18 years and his current assignment as an instructor at the police academy has given him a unique perspective of the criminal justice sytem in the U.S. and aided his doctoral research. \"branson_unreel\"<\/a>He is the author of \u201cThe Anonymity of African American Serial Killers, A Continuum of Negative Imagery from Slavery to Prisons,\u201d (Amazon.com<\/em>) \u201cAfrican American Serial Killers, Overrepresented Yet Underacknowledged\u201d (Howard Journal<\/em>) and soon to be published \u201cHate Crimes in America and the Slavery Paradigm\u201d (CRC Press<\/em>).<\/p>\n

His current research explores perceptions of ethnic groups based on media representations as well as issues regarding the social construct of \u201crace\u201d and crime in America. He continues to teach and conduct research within an academic environment.<\/p>\n
